Advisees > Research > Letters of recommendation for research opportunities
Eligible stuents (including current freshmen and sophomores) who are interested for eligible research programs should review the application materials or contact the program directors to see if a prehealth advisor letter could substitute for a faculty letter.
In the case where a prehealth advisor letter can substitute for a faculty letter, Dr. Chuck will ask all students who are interested to provide additional documentation that is relevant for the application and a final letter of recommendation. In addition, a brief interview will be required prior to submitting the letter of recommendation.
Due to the competitive aspect of applying to many fellowships, Dr. Chuck recommends selecting three different programs for summer applications.
Requests for summer recommendations can be made until the end of winter break or as dictated so that letters can be sent to the programs by their dictated deadlines.
